Well the weather gods have decided on a frigid New Year’s Day for us in eastern NC. The paddle and social will go on, and I’m putting an emphasis on the social aspect! Subfreezing temps and 12 mph winds are predicted. PLEASE consider your paddling ability before you pack up your kayaks and head out on the water. Attached find some very useful information that everyone should read carefully before paddling on such a day. Don’t take this lightly, it can be very dangerous. There will not be a powerboat in attendance to rescue any accidental swimmers. If you are brave enough to paddle, there will be a brief safety meeting at 1:10 pm that you should attend.
Bill Sadler has agreed to bring coffee and donuts to the event, which begins at 1:00 pm. If you would like to bring a tasty treat to share, please feel free to do so.
If you have questions or concerns please let me know. See the cold weather safety flyer by clicking here, sent by Rick Tollmann. See you Monday!
