Thom Wilson was a great guy. He seemed to be most alive when he was on the water, talking about good times on the water or anything that pertained to the water. I guess that is why we connected so well. He was a complex guy with many interest and skills from construction, religion, racket ball, kayaking to drumming. Thom was generous in many ways (providing boats, spirits, leading trips & opening up his house for our club events…). He was especially interested in his faith as a Christian and was often seeking a higher knowledge and relationship w/ his maker. Never pious but always willing to share his spiritual life w/ you over a paddle trip or while enjoying a beer while watching the sun set on the water. He seemed most at one when kayaking around the islands near Swansboro where he lived for a while. Our club was fortunate to have such a passionate leader at the helm for the years that he was our president. I look forward to crossing wakes with my friend Thom again in the future.
